Producing energy from non-renewable sources (such as coal and oil) to power our homes and cars not only results in greenhouse gas emissions (pollution) but also comes from sources that will one day run out. The way we currently operate our energy supply is inefficient and unsustainable. As non-renewable resourcesbecome more scarce, they will become more expensive. Switching to renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, which produce no greenhouse gas emissions in the production of energy, will ultimately mean cheaper prices for consumers in the long term and a healthier environment to live in.
